I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t completely fascinated with hair, the way it falls, how it moves and how quickly it can completely transform a person’s entire image both inside and out. It has always been a part of who I am.

I could not have predicted that my childhood hobby would take me down this road. I have been a professional in the hair industry since May 2006. I am passionate about continuing my education and try to attend at least 2 classes a year.  A few of my favorites are:
  • Razor Fundamentals with Nick Arrojo, at his academy in New York.
  • Balayage, a natural looking, sun kissed, highlighting technique through L’oreal Professional also in New York City.
  • An intimate 3-day intensive with Vivienne Mackinder, at her private studio in the Hamptons. She is the founder of Hairdesignertv.com, five-time NAHA Award Winner and recipient of the NAHA Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Vidal Sassoon’s 5 day, ABC cutting class in Chicago, IL.
  • Flamboyage from Davines, a new free-form, artistic highlighting technique that offers subtle a natural look as well as strong dramatic change.

I believe the first step in being a good stylist is to be a good listener. I specialize in personalized cutting, coloring and styling.  I love to work with and enhance the natural flow and texture. Playing with curly hair is one of my favorite techniques. It is an entirely different system of cutting. I also really enjoy the challenge of precision cutting.

Stop by and visit me:  Mon. 10 am-4 pm, Thurs. 1 pm-8 pm, Fri. 2 pm-8 pm & Sat. 10 am-4 pm

I genuinely adore what I do! I’ve grown to thrive on the energy of a happy client and seeing them walk out feeling fresh and new keeps me passionate about my work.

I love the evolving and challenging nature of this industry. To feed my creative soul I have continued my education most recently with Advanced Razor Cutting at The Arrojo Studio in NYC, worked one-on-one with the ever-amazing Vivienne Mackinder, and shaped the hairstyles for the runway at Rhode Island's Style Week in Providence.

When I’m not making my clients feel beautiful, I’m cooking with my husband, running amuck with my little ones and last but not least kicking my feet up with a good book and the sun on my face. Perfection.

You’ll find me at Ananda on Thursdays 2-9 pm, Fri 1-8 pm and Sat 9-4 pm

I have been a hair professional since 2012 and I could not be happier. My passion for hair came as a surprise to me. Before I realized it, I was considering going to school for art. I didn’t realize going to beauty school would be a form of art school. Hair has broadened my perspective of art.

The more I learn about hair, the more captivated I become. I put my heart into every cut, color, and style I do. I strive for perfection in my work. I am inspired by the talented and knowledgeable senior stylists around me. I always keep an open mind to learning new techniques from them.  I love educating my clients on how to take care of their hair. I want them to look good not only when they leave the salon but every day!

Stop by and visit me:  Mon. 10 am-4 pm, Thurs. 1 pm-8 pm, Fri. 10 am-6 pm & Sat. 9 am-6 pm

I graduated from Paul Mitchell the School of Rhode Island and worked as a travel bridal stylist before landing at Ananda.

My goal is to make every single one of our clients feel cared for, pampered, and beautiful and consider myself to be caring and attentive. I enjoy soaking in all the knowledge of the talented stylists that work around me. I think that listening to my clients' needs is so important to fulfilling their beauty needs and creating a lasting relationship.

When I am not at the salon, I love spending time with my family and relaxing.

You can find me at the salon Thursdays from 4:30-8 pm and Fridays 9 am-1 pm.

I've loved styling hair for as long as I can remember. I've always been the person that my sister and friends came to when they needed their hair done for a dance or special occasion, and a few years ago, I decided to turn that love into a career. I attended Paul Mitchell the School Rhode Island, where I made the dean's list and also completed the honor's program in cutting, color and texture. I earned an honorable mention in the 2015 Beacon styling competition and won a trip to attend the Professional Beauty Association's "Beauty Week" in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there I attended the American Hairstyling Awards - the Oscars of hair - and other events where I had the opportunity to pick the brains of the industry's highest profile salon owners, professionals and stylists.
Special occasion styling remains one of my favorite ways to work with hair. I love working at Ananda because everyone genuinely loves hair, loves what they do, and loves sharing their knowledge to help make me a better stylist. You can check out some of my work on Instagram: @MichelleRodriguesHair.

I am behind the chair Mondays 10 am-4pm, Thursdays 1-8 pm, Fridays 10 am-6 pm and Saturdays 9 am-6 pm.

I’ve always loved art.  When I was little, I enjoyed coloring, music and crafts and knew I wanted to do something in that field when I grew up. As I got older, I developed a love for makeup and skin care. I can still remember playing in my mom's makeup, lotions, and hair products. My interest in beauty led me to become a fully licensed esthetician. Working in a spa, I realized how much I enjoyed helping people feel good about themselves and decided to add to my expertise in the industry by attending Paul Mitchell the School Rhode Island to become a hair stylist as well. Making sure my clients feel comfortable and leave my chair with the style they desired, while maintaining the healthy and integrity of their hair is my goal with each and every appointment.

I’m also a mom of a beautiful little girl who is my world, and love spending time outside in nature just enjoying the days and changing seasons.

You can find me behind the chair on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 10 am-4 pm

Courtney Coelho, junior stylist/bridal coordinator/receptionist
After a decade of working in journalism and communications, I decided in the fall of 2015 to take a leap of faith and pursue my lifelong interest in the fashion and beauty industry by enrolling at Paul Mitchell the School Rhode Island, where I'll graduate in the spring of 2017 with a full cosmetology license.
At Ananda, I do much of the salon's communications and event planning, as well as serve as the bridal coordinator for our wedding services. When I'm not at my computer, you might find me wandering the salon, trying to watch and learn as much as I can from our amazing group of talented stylists.
I also continue to work in my first career, doing styling and writing for Rhode Island Monthly magazine, where I am a contributing editor, and also doing freelance writing and communication consulting work for area clients.
I'm still so new to the beauty industry, but I already love the opportunity it provides me to work with my hands, be creative and connect with clients. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.

I assist and work the front desk Thursday 3-8 pm and am behind the chair Saturdays 10 am-4 pm.
